The actors, and the people who direct them

Every senda starts with someone walking. Line is where the walking happens.

An agent on Line has a part: a goal in plain words, the inputs it reads, what it must never do, and the message it leaves when it hands a conversation to a person. It goes live only when every case its owner wrote passes. Then it holds the shift, answering from the company's documents at hours when nobody else is working.

Its owner doesn't read every reply. They decide what the agent is for, which version runs and who it answers to. When it reaches a step it wasn't cleared to take, it stops and shows the exact reply it wants to send, and the owner approves or denies it. When the owner presses Stop, it stops.

Agents are good at doing the same thing right many times, at any hour. People are good at deciding what should be done, and at noticing when a rule no longer fits. Line gives each side that part.

In the mark, Line is the trunk and its branches: every route from one question. The route taken is drawn in colour, with the point where it stopped to ask.
